Simply select text and choose from AI options to: generate original content, rewrite text for improved clarity (like an AI rewriter), check grammar like Grammarly does, simplify language, create summaries, add emojis, adjust text length, or continue writing from where you left off. The AI analyzes your content and writing style to provide contextually appropriate suggestions that match your voice, whether you're drafting a curriculum vitae or creative content.

You have several options for integrating AI with our notepad: 1) OpenAI API: Use your own OpenAI API key to access models like GPT-4o, GPT-4o Mini, GPT-4 Turbo, GPT-4, and GPT-3.5 Turbo. Simply paste your API key in Settings. 2) OpenRouter: Connect to various AI models through OpenRouter using your API key, including free options like Llama 3.1 8B and Mistral 7B. 3) Local Models (Browser): Run AI directly in your browser with WebLLM models like TinyLlama, Llama 3.2, Gemma, and Phi. Note that browser-based models require sufficient system resources—check the model size (e.g., ~0.8GB to ~4.5GB) against your available RAM. 4) Local Models (Ollama/LM Studio): Connect to locally installed Ollama or LM Studio for more powerful, resource-efficient AI processing on your own machine. Access all these options through the Settings icon, where you can configure your preferred AI model based on your needs and system capabilities.

All collaborative activities are marked with contributor information for easy tracking. Your privacy is also protected—by default, notes are saved locally on your device, meaning content never leaves your computer unless you share it. This local storage ensures sensitive information remains private. When you share a note, the data is contained within the shareable link itself, so be mindful about who you share it with. We don't have any access to your data—the application runs entirely in your browser, giving you complete data ownership and privacy.
